The article analyzes the deviations of eating behavior associated with obesity and their impact on health, including on metabolic syndrome and hepatic steatosis. The aim is to synthesize scientific data on the influence of eating behavior and behavioral intervention strategies in correcting body weight. 33 publications from relevant databases were analyzed. Studies show that the Mediterranean diet is the most recommended for these conditions, but behavioral change is often difficult and requires psychological support. Cognitivebehavioral interventions have proven effective, focusing on motivation, self-regulation, conscious restriction and healthy alternatives to replace food. The conclusion emphasizes the need to integrate medicine, psychology/ psychotherapy and nutrition for an effective approach to obesity and metabolic associated conditions.
