Abstract

The majority of patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) were placed in 60-74 years age range (50,2%), divided almost equally regarding their gender. The main etiological factors in CHF were: ischemic cardiomyopathy, hypertension and diabetes mellitus type 2, diagnosed to 95,8%, 93,8% and 23% of patients respectively. Categorizing the patients according to NYHA classification, gradings I, II, II, IV, was established that, 0% were included in grade I; 4,6% in grade II; 70,7% - grade III and 26,1% in grade IV respectively. Symptoms related to left ventricular failure (LVF) were: dyspnea (100%) varying in severity; fatigue presented to 46,1% of patients; cyanosis(16,9%); basal crackles (26,1%). Right ventricular failure symptom (RVF) were gastrointestinal manifestations (15,3%); peripheral edema (60%); acrocyanosis (7,6%). CHF symptomatology is broad and it is characterized by the failure of one or both ventricles. Usually, the symptoms progress from the left ventricle (LV) to the right ventricle (RV).
