Dispozitivele și instrumentariul folosite în prelevarea și procesarea corneei sunt și vor fi una din necesitățile folosite de Banca de ochi. Analiza aparatajului și instrumentariului modern pentru prelevarea și procesarea corneei necesită un progres tehnologic și informațional ce tinde să modernizeze toate tipurile de dispozitive pentru a spori calitatea corneei, ceea ce permite o stocare ex vivo mai îndelungată, menținând în același timp viabilitatea straturilor corneei la nivel epitelial, stromal și endotelial. Bioreactoarele sunt dispozitive complexe care mențin depozitarea corneei ex vivo care sunt mai aproape de norma fiziologică. Multe studii arată că aceste dispozitive direct sau indirect influențează activitatea celulelor.
