Keywords:
amniotic membrane, transplant, ophthalmologyAbstract
Amniotic membrane transplantation is currently being used for a continuously widening spectrum of ophthalmic indications thanks to the amniotic membrane’s unique combination of properties, including the facilitation of epithelial cells migration, the reinforcement of basal cellular adhesion, and the stimulation of epithelial differentiation. This review explores the everexpanding ophthalmological indications for the use of human amniotic membranes.
